Our “interns” like working at the The Early Years Institute because of our opportunities, inclusive environment, work and culture.

The Early Years Institute (EYI) seeks highly-motivated, self-starting students who are passionate about journalism, public relations, social media and film making. Interns will provide support to the EYI mission and report to the Director of Communications and Marketing while gaining valuable skills and insights in the world of communications and marketing.  This is a non-paid internship.  The internship can be semester driven and/or year round “non-paid” opportunity with the ability to fit your educational needs and earn credits toward graduation.

This internship will enable a skilled student a professional learning opportunity of implementing and executing communication and marketing initiatives.  This internship will provide the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas including:

  • JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    * Passion for public relations, communications, marketing and social media.
    * Ability to see the “big picture” and assist with all aspects of projects.
    * Proficiency in Web management, Photoshop, Social Media platforms, videography,    photography, Word,   
    * Excel, content writing and other types of public relations and communications.
    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – presentation, marketing, sales
    * Other added skills - graphic artist as an added bonus
    * Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
    * Responsible, accountable, honest, reliable
    * Superior academic record
    * Must be a currently enrolled, full-time, undergraduate student enrolled in a U.S. college/university will be returning to college as a full-time sophomore, junior or senior. 
    * Full-time is defined as at least 12 credit hours.
    * Time commitment of 15-18 hours per week (M-F, 9am-5pm)
    * Two week notice on end of internship is a must.
