Five Towns Child Care Center‘s Outdoor Classroom is a garden playground for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Many children on Long Island and in the Inwood community do not have backyards or have the opportunity to play outside. It was the dream of the Board of Directors and the Director to give the young children of this community the opportunity to have early learning experience with nature. The understanding that love and respect for nature are nurtured in early childhood, that an appropriate outdoor environment supports learning in all domains and that children need to be with nature to be physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy, spirited the work. The play garden is a gift to the children and families of the community.
