Currently in the development/construction phase, the outdoor classroom project at Play Groups School began in 2007, with the creation of garden boxes. Looking to the future, Play Groups envisions an outdoor center- based learning space, which builds upon the natural beauty and geography unique to the area. The plans include a range of learning centers, including art, natural sensory materials, water feature, a “nest” for gross motor development, as well as many others. The project is evolving in conjunction with a unique, place-based curriculum tailored to the natural environment at Play Groups School.
